Our Awards at
NI Week
NI Week was especially exciting this
year. Maybe it was the cool new technology, or maybe it was because
there was so much upbeat certainty about the economy. But, for Viewpoint
in particular, it was especially fun because we won two awards!
The first was the Graphical Systems
Design Award in the Embedded Monitoring category.
Take a look at
http://www.ni.com/gsdawards/explore_2011.htm
for details and the paper located at
http://sine.ni.com/cs/app/doc/p/id/cs-13833.
Thanks go out to
STRAAM, our client in this project, for allowing
us to write the article. We are really proud to have won this prestigious
award!
The second award was for our long-standing
commitment to the NI’s Alliance Program. This award was presented
to all the Alliance Program members who have been with NI for over 15
years. It was quite an honor to be standing on stage at the Convention
Center with the other 20 or so companies. We all had a lot of fun sharing
the history, memories, and experiences.
Cool Video
Take a look at this video of NASA’s
Dawn spacecraft moving towards and past the Vesta asteroid, the second-most
massive asteroid in our solar system:
http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2011/16sep_vestaflyaround/
Dawn entered orbit around Vesta on
16 July 2011. It’s amazing what humans can accomplish.
NI Technical Symposium
Viewpoint will be at the upcoming Cleveland
NITS on October 18. Here’s a link showing the session contents: http://sine.ni.com/nievents/app/offering/p/offeringId/700134/site/nic/country/us/lang/en.
We are excited about the session topics,
especially to see the acceptance of RT and FPGA, which are among our
core competencies. We hope to see you at the show!
Thanks for reading!

Part 0: Good Practices for LabVIEW Development or How to Practice for your LabVIEW Developer Certification
|
Viewpoint has been involved in LabVIEW
User Group Meetings (LV UGMs) in many areas around the Northeast. There
are two major themes presented at these UGMs: overviews of new NI product
features and overviews of programming tips and techniques.
For the past several years, NI and
Viewpoint have been moving towards tying this “tips and techniques”
content into a longer term review of good programming practices, such
as using the Producer-Consumer architecture. So, in that spirit, over
the next several newsletters, we are going to develop a LabVIEW application
that highlights these good programming practices. For those who have
an interest in the Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) and
Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) certification exams, these practices
are important in passing those exams.
